NC. They were invited participate in the development of this artwork to help focus on their transition to a more patient-centered model. It took nearly a year to complete. We gathered volunteers, paired them and asked them questions, and then during a gluey workshop, used the handwritten answers for the background pages.
These individual transformations, guided by a national program called the Planetree Initiative, will collectively raise the level and style of patient care. The employees and patients will be reminded of their personal commitments as they wait for the elevator. I can think of few more exciting objectives in the making of art.
Boo Gilder, the current resident at the Rensing Center, was a priceless help in making this work, as were Kay Reardon and Doni Jordan. I am blessed by such skilled friends.
